Time is not something that can be caught...

It's been almost 4 years, and I'm still not over it.  I don't think it will ever be something I can just "get over."  Nearly 4 years ago, pancreatic cancer ended my Dad's life and left a hole in mine.  Not a day goes by that I don't miss him.  There are constant reminders.  Reminders of why I need to stick with my goals and make him proud.  I need to fight for this cause.  I need to do more.  And I will.  I just have to get myself together.  I've been slacking, and the sad thing is that I know I haven't been trying my best.  My father may have not been here physically for my 18th birthday and again to watch me drink my first legal drink at 21 last week, but he was still spiritually present.  That I will always believe.  He is never truly gone.  He lives here in my heart, my memories, and within my family and everyone else who had the opportunity to have him in their lives.  So yes, I am greatly saddened that he isn't here right now lecturing me to bring my grades up, but in my mind, I can still hear him.  I will always carry with me all that he taught.  And I know that underdogs CAN win.  In my opinion, Dad was far too young when he died, but he taught me to take advantage of every opportunity.  Never to let obstacles stop me from achieving.  He did what made him happy, and that is the example I would like to carry on.  We are running on borrowed time.  We are not guaranteed a lot of time in this world.  Time runs out for everyone.  Some live many years, others draw the short straw.  This is life.  No matter how long we are given, it will never seem like enough.  However, we are the ones who control what we do with the time we are given, which is why I'm gonna make it worth itLive your life.  Smile.  Cry.  Let your anger out. Get over stuff that holds you downLaugh often.  Be thankful for what you have.  No regrets.  Time to take off and fly.  Most importantly, trust your instincts.  They are usually right, you know.  Have fun and go get 'em!!  <3

I want it... time to go for it!!  :)

School is _____.

But I am alive, have a lot going for me, have people who are there for me and vice versa, and determined to be happy and successful.  That's all that matters.

I'm already tired of hearing about the elections at school though.  Republicans or Democrats... they are all clueless.  Find someone who is intelligent and actually living the life of an average American... that's who I want.  It's all about glitz and glory though.  All that money spent on endorsements and whatnot... what a waste.  Once elected, no one really cares what happens to us.  They just want the title and not the job.  Politicians all seem the same to me... they'll say exactly what the public wants to hear in order to get the most votes, but as far as following through with their claims... it's all crap.  I bet the most qualified people for government positions are the people who are smart enough to stay out of the mess of politics.  After all, it's the "average" people who make the best changes in the world.  It's the people who have actually had to work hard to get where they are.  If people want a change, they need to start contributing their own efforts instead of placing all their hopes on one man or woman.  Stop wondering how the President is gonna change the world.  Get off your butt and do something.  Presidents are given a lot of power, but who's to say that we don't have power too?  We all have a greatness inside of us... it's just that not all of us utilize it...

That's all.

I should probably go to sleep.

Lots to do tomorrow.
